RR1
Our most “extreme” but still adventure bike-friendly route.
Featuring gravel roads, jeep tracks, small river crossings, single tracks, and some rocky climbs.
Difficulty 8/10
– There will be an extreme option you can tackle each day if you are feeling brave.
RR2
Our intermediate route and suitable for experienced pillion duos or intermediate solo riders.
Featuring gravel roads and jeep tracks.
Difficulty 6 / 10
RR3
Our novice route and suitable for intermediate duos or novice solo riders.
Featuring only gravel roads and possibly a small piece of jeep track, depending on conditions.
Difficulty 4 / 10
Day 1: A Journey Through Nature’s Playground
On the first day of Rallye Raid 2025, we’re thrilled to announce the debut of the RR3 route, designed specifically for big bike riders, passengers, and adventure bike beginners. This route will join up with the RR2 riders, offering them more jeep track to conquer, while still providing a challenging yet manageable experience for the RR1 riders.
Our lunchtime stop will be the historic Katberg Hotel, located at the base of Katberg Pass, South Africa. This area is known for its stunning natural beauty, with its rolling hills and lush forests, as well as for its rich cultural heritage and folklore.
As we make our way across the escarpment, we’ll also be visiting Post Retief for the first time. This is a unique opportunity to experience the rugged terrain and breathtaking views of the Eastern Cape, as we pass through the Amathole Mountains, which are home to a wide variety of plant and animal species, including the endangered Cape parrot.
This route promises to be an unforgettable experience for all, as we explore the natural wonders and cultural treasures of this beautiful region.
Day 2
On Day 2, we’re excited to take you through the picturesque forest of Hogsback, known for its natural beauty and unique flora and fauna.
We have three different routes to choose from, catering to all skill levels. The RR1 riders will be thrilled with the new tracks available at Henderson’s farm, winding through the dense forest and offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.
The farming community of Thomas River has opened up three new farms for us to discover epic new trails suitable for both RR2 and RR3 riders. The area is known for its rugged terrain and challenging landscape, making it an adventure rider’s paradise. As we ride, you’ll be spoilt to the indigenous Afromontane forest, home to a diverse range of plant and animal species.
We’re sticking with a winning formula and will be having lunch at Thomas River, where you can refuel and take in the stunning scenery.
